At the Dec. 13, 2016 board meeting, the Tucson Unified School District Governing Board approved employee raises for the 2017-2018 school year. Employees will see the raise next school year when they will be advanced one step on their assigned salary schedule. Classified employees can expect a 1% raise through their step increase. This increase may be in addition to any pay increase and/or step increase subsequently agreed to during further negotiations for the 2017-2018 school year. More information >>
If you worked for Tucson Unified School District during the 2012-2013, 2013-2014, 2014-2015 or 2015-2016 school years and were eligible for a Fund 12 payment under the applicable 301 Pay for Performance Plan, then you can now be hired and placed into a classroom teacher position, subject to district hiring policies and procedures, and you can participate in the 301 Pay for Performance Plan for 2016-2017. Tucson Unified School District will pay a Dual-Language Recruitment and Retention Incentive Stipend of $2500 that will be available to new-to-the-District incoming certified teachers and to certified teachers who currently work for the District that meet specific criteria. The Work Calendar includes start and end dates for classified, certified, food service, transportation, and school safety employees.
Attention juniors and parents of juniors: In 2015, the Arizona legislature passed the American Civics Act (House Bill 2064) requiring the graduating class of 2017 to pass a civics test based on the United States Immigration and Naturalization civics questions. Students will be required to score 60% or higher in order to graduate from high school or obtain a high school equivalency certificates. Students may retake the test as many times as necessary to pass. Students receiving special education services are exempt from obtaining a passing score unless required by an IEP.

TUSD has introducing a new time keeping system to help ensure that all hourly staff are compensated for the time they work. Hourly employees will clock in and out to record their work time by swiping their photo ID badges at an electronic time clock terminal or by signing into a timekeeping web application from any networked computer in the district.

If you have a concern regarding sex discrimination, sexual harassment, or sexual assault, please report your concern through the Sex Discrimination/ Sexual Harassment/ Sexual Assault Reporting Form. When submitted, this form will be emailed to the Title IX coordinator in the Student Equity Department for further action. You can reach the Title IX coordinator at (520) 225-4316.
